    I’m really enjoying the webinar content, as I’m at the point in my IM endeavors when I’ve realized that building out an actual email sub list is going to be the most important thing I can do to ensure a Google-proof passive income

    I’m also happy to see somebody promoting Glen Allsop’s Optin Skin plugin. I’ve been following Glen’s IM stuff for years now, and Optin Skin seems like the real deal

      Thanks buddy, glad you liked it. Building a list is right up there… hands down one of the best things you can do ASAP. I really like Optin Skin as well.

    Hi Nate – thanks for the List Bldg. webinar replay; I finally got to watch it. Thanks also for keeping it simple and declarative. I find sometimes that other IMers get too sophisticated too fast and the knowledge becomes difficult to absorb. I even thought of 3 different PDFs I could write.

      Mary- I’m glad you liked it. Yeah list building is actually very simple… a lot of people never start because they think they need to be able to add 1,000 people their first month to make it worth it but that’s not even close… Your traffic and sales will snowball much faster even if all you ever did was have an optin form and do a weekly update that links to the new articles you posted that week.

    I just watched the webinar replay. I wanted to start building a list right away for my new site but I thought I would be too new in the niche to build a list.

    Because of all the great ideas in the webinar I think I might be able to make it work.

      Renee- Yeah it’s never too early to start building a list… it will pay off big and you can have it sooner than later if you just get started. Glad you liked the webinar.

    Hi Nate -
    I was in on this call and have watched the replay a couple of times since as I set up my first opt-in – very helpful. Could you do more about ways to get people to sign up for your list – beyond great content and a really attractive giveaway, do you have other methods you use? It seems getting sign-ups is really, really slow for this new list I’ve got though I think we’ve done the things you recommend in this webinar – good content etc. Thanks for the help!

      Jackie- Yeah that’s a good idea for a future post… All the tricks I know of to increase opt-ins. I’ll put that on my list of to-do posts.

      Gerry- It actually wasn’t on Shoemoney’s site now that I think about it- it was on the blog of the company who did the split testing…. I can’t think of it right now. Try googling “Shoemoney Optin Split Test” or something like that.

    Hey Nate,
    Can you tell me what makes icontact better than mailchimp? Mailchimp is free and I was just about to start using it but maybe I’ll sign up for icontact instead. I want to build a squeeze page for a new business which is the main reason I need one of these. Thanks for your input.

      I’m pretty sure that you can’t do autoresponder emails for free with mailchimp.. not sure though as I’ve never looked into it.
