    Great stuff Nate!

Very valuable tips – it sounds obvious, but they’re so important and people don’t follow-through with the advice all the time (me included) – it’s important to always repeat these valuable tips so hopefully it will stick in people’s minds.

    Alright Nate –

I’m going to quit my job in a few months to pursue IM full-time (I was going to make a career change even before I found out about IM so this choice isn’t based solely on my passion for IM). Nothing is going to change my mind – I’m going all in and nothing is going to stop me.

I have about 6K saved up (I’m hoping to save more but don’t know if I can) that I can use solely for my business (I’ll have financial support for 6 months – 1 year), am disciplined with “shiny object syndrome” for the most part, built a couple of niche sites so I understand the process (not really making money – a few bucks a day but I know that it takes WORK to get sites to rank, etc.) and understand IM is a business and I’ll treat it as such.

Question: If you had to start your business ALL OVER again and you can start with any set of IM tools to get started with what would they be (I want to know because while I still have extra money from the day job- I will use that money to buy tools based on your recommendations – I don’t want to use the 6K towards the start-up tools). NOTE: Not luxury items but stuff you absolutely need to succeed.

I have LTP, your Niche Video Tycoon WSO (and a few others), a “new” Mac Book (refurb),. If the expenses are recurring (UAW), also mention that. I’d prefer not to use it but throw out whatever.

    Thanks –

      Irwin,
you should have a read of this before you quit your job to go fulltime. I know what you are saying sounds good but is it?

        Hey DC!

Thanks for posting that link – I actually read that a few weeks ago when I googled “burn the ships”. It worried me (for a few minutes), but after I evaluated my situation I feel like it’s the best thing for me to do – I’m “wasting” my time in my current career that I’m not interested in (I was going to make a career change anyways – might as well try IM since I love it so much), I have no debt, no kids, my wife makes enough to support us (and she supports my dream) – I say “why not”.

It’s scary – I’ve been working since I was 15, but this is my dream and I always wanted to start my own business (I got my degree in Business [emphasis in Accounting] anyways plus it’s low risk IMO.

We’ll see what happens – thanks again for posting that link!

Irwin- without writing a whole blog post’s worth to answer that…

The most powerful methods are authority sites and your own products. Those two can be blended together, but they don’t have to be. There’s a lot that goes into either one… so I’ll schedule that for a blog post in the next couple of weeks.

Nate – this couldn’t have come at a better time for me as I’m working more and have less time to spend at this. However, got some needed reinforcement and perspective on what’s most important to do. Appreciate the honesty about your e-book. I’m a bit forlorn as the Penguin update just did a “number” on my one and only site, and I was ranking for
3 of its 5 pages. Oh well, lessons learned.

    All the best,
    Mary C.

    Hey Nate,

A couple of questions, and an update.

First, I am writing in faith right now, that your system works,
because I have not made any money from Amazon yet, but I
believe I will soon. I have made 113 clicks from my site to Amazon so far this month, but no sales or commissions. But I bet that will change soon.

So, I’m persevering, and looking forward to some financial results.

I have a question, about content. At one point you said to look
around on sites that are doing well, find some kind of ‘fun’ articles there, that are doing well, getting a lot of views, and write an article similar to it. Okay, understood.

Then, in another place it seems you said to do keyword research, find low, medium and high volume search terms, and write all content — both money pages and content pages — using those keywords, 3 in each article.

How do these two ideas fit together?

Well, that’s about it for now.

    Greg

P.S. One last thing, I currently have about 15 posts on my site, bestsellingcampinggear.com. I had hoped, listening to your videos, that I might be one of the faster people, at writing, and that I might produce 3 articles a day.

If that had happened, I’d have about 90 posts by now. Alas…

But, you did drill it into me sufficiently, that I have not gone off on any tangents, pursuing shiny objects. I’m sticking with the plan you laid out, and I’m committed to seeing some income from Amazon affiliate program this year.

Any thoughts or responses will be most welcome.

    Thanks again,

    Greg

Greg- As far as those two ideas fitting together, you can do both separately. Usually the pages that will receive the best response on your sites will be the ones that you wrote purely with the visitor in mind- meaning not based off keywords or anything.
